Economics of the Gender Pay Gap: The business world is continuly changing in all different types of industries. Women owning their own businesses is part of how our economy survives. Women owned businesses has increased from 29 percent in 1997 to 68 percent in 2007.women owned businesses take up 47 percent of all of the businesses in the economy (The Atlantic). Theses busineses bring in about 23 million jobs to the U.S. job force; also it brings in $3 trillion (NWBC.gov). â€Å"These jobs not only sustain the individual worker, but contribute to the economic security of their families, the economic vitality of their communities and the nation† (NWBC.gov). its safe to say that women are a huge impact to our economic survival Even though women owned businesses are an economic impact for our economy, women still fall short of pay equality.
